Many Ways to Gather

There are many ways to enter into relationship with Shimmering Ridge. Throughout the year, the Sanctuary opens for workshops, demonstrations, circles, celebrations, and other experiences centered in learning, making, tending, remembering, and gathering in season.

Some are practical and hands-on. Others are reflective, celebratory, or sacred. Some are created specifically for women, while others welcome the broader community—including occasional family-friendly offerings. Each is shaped by the character of this place and by what the land, the season, and the moment are ready to share.

Living Landscape

The gardens, forests, waters, and cultivated spaces of Shimmering Ridge become both classroom and teacher. Explore Appalachian medicinal plants, regenerative land care, ecological stewardship, garden tours, community projects, and apprenticeship opportunities.

Women’s Mystery Tradition

Enter a women-only realm of magic, mystery, and esoteric study. Through workshops, seminars, shared practice, and ritual, explore Western mystery traditions, folk magic, divination, sacred symbolism, mythology, ceremonial arts, and the many ways women have worked with the unseen.

The traditions of Southern Appalachia remain alive through the hands, stories, skills, and shared knowledge of its people. Gather for workshops, demonstrations, handwork, foodways, storytelling, community events, and seasonal markets that honor what has been carried forward—and help keep it in practice.

Follow curiosity into hands-on practices shaped by nature, beauty, and place. Workshops may include painting, weaving, herbal incense blending, garden design, botanical arts, and other forms of making that invite experimentation, skill-building, and personal expression.
